Id like to thank Jeff and all involved for having me and my other west coast homies out….

Wow, mother nature sure did have it in for us this past weekend. This had to be some of the most core conditions ive ever spent at a weekend festie….

but in the end it didnt matter

The Iowa vibe is just unbelivable. I know many folks who under such conditions would have packed up and called it quits. Not these Iowa trancers and partiers and the rest of those that made the trek. It just seemed that the weather just made everyone put all that much more energy into the vibe and feel of the show….

On the music of the weekend, i have to say i was blown away. Im a hyper critical picky bastard when it comes to performances of Dj's and live acts. Something that doesnt always make me friends, but im always honest in my opinion. This is the 1st party in a very  very long time where i enjoyed every single set…..
(honestly i thought mine was the worst)
every single person rocked it, with precision mixing, great track selection and fantastic energy

    favorites were
    Dan Efex
    Freedom & Shagee
    SOt and Kaiser
Nick and ( god im awful with friggin names) * the Iowa kidas that opend the show were really really good
and of course my 2 west coast friends Vax and Mubali, brought it proper….

and Underfoot my man, you were my fav of the weekend. A track selection after my own heart, and good mixing as well. I would very much love to tag with you someday…..

i think thats about it ive just got to say I love the Iowa vibe and now really want to find out if the rest of the mid-west scene is just as much fun. If so i think you all could teach us old jaded bastards out west a thing or 3…..

Well…another party comes to a close.  As usual, I met Underfoot and Toki at the main stage as the music was coming to a close.  “Good to see you again the morning after as always,” I said.  “Likewise,” they replied.  Everyone did, however, look pretty chipper and smiled.  The chai was a huge, huge help to me mentally as I had been up for a very long time and still had to pack up the campsite and the canopy that had collapsed from the wind that we had brought and set up so people would have somewhere to sit out of the rain.  We also went to WalMart and bought full raingear and extra socks.  I kept two pairs and gave the rest to the very wet, yet happy people who were working the gate  :).

Two days back at work and still pneumonia free, and I have to say that the party had one of the greatest vibes ever.  All the cool Iowa people (who finally got my friends and I to drag ourselves to one of the Iowa parties they'de been trying to get us to go to for a while).  Playing sunrise epic trance with Steve-O in the EDM stage at 6:45am on Sunday was definately special, and having Dan of the Iowa crew rock out to my very last record was really cool.  (Aalto – “Rush” (Anjunabeats)).  I'll be able to tell my kids that my first time spinning at a real party was on vinyl when I normally use CDs, spinning records that weren't mine in the pouring rain at sunrise on the last day of the party.

Meeting Jeff was very cool, he was soooo level headed and with it.  An awesome person to the core and graciously let me spin with Steve-O even though he had never heard me before.  Nick and Chris, your set blew me away when I first got there and you guys were very cool for the rest of the party it was definately fun.  I would have to say that, overally, Ekstasis' sets were my favs.  It wasn't a night timeslot for them, but I'm a progressive DJ myself and wow…the melodies, the deep thumpy beat, not to mention supporting my fellow Canadians  😉  It just blew my mind.  I danced till I couldn't stand, took a breather and danced some more. I hadn't seen Anand since Karmaclysm and it was so nice to see him again.  Basically, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm thankful for the feel of psy parties in general and I'm extra thankful for how this one treated me.

And the rain, who can forget the rain.  Let's not forget, though, it was both a blessing and a curse.  Those who didn't come for the party and the people itself were gone after the first night and were left with all the people who make these things worth driving rediculous amounts of time, (and in my case with three people, a campsite, food and clothes in a Volkswagon beetle).

The last thing I'll mention is the CD that was being handed out from Chilluminati – I'm on probably my twentieth listening of this already and I'm so floored by it.  I listened to it on my last leg (Madison, WI to Marshfield, WI = 2.5 hours) and I think I said “Oh, wow” to myself probably 80 times.  Not to mention the production value of the CD.  I don't know where you guys got that kind of quality but the sound just filled my head.  The first song reminded me of a really brilliant ambient track I heard a month or so ago on Digitally Imported that was just gorgeous Secede ft. Kettel – “Leraine.”

Thanks guys for everything and I'll see you all at Sacred Earth Open Air – and if you need DJs I'm going to bring my decks this time so I'm not hunting around for CDJs at the last minute :).

    Shalom Chaverim,

    Matthew Richard (Freefall)

Wanted to thank Jeff and all of Subconscious Collective and friends and the artists and the overall Psychedelic Family…..big big kisses n hugs n respect to all!!! ;D

    Wonderful amazing balastic event!!! ;D 😀 8) ::) ::) 8) ;D 😀

Fantastic location….a true match to what our music and community demands ……… the most modest requirements…….to be one with nature and as Nick (aroma therapist) said “once we go beyond the mind and body………..we realize that its only the spirit that is dominant”  🙂 And boy talk about going over the bodies limit……….as all have said, it was a true test mother nature put to us….. :P…….and only people to whom the music and people meant something………stuck on and smiled to project that unseen energy to every other being there. The rain put me and everyone to go through that extra effort………to push through the tough yet enjoyable times…….to reach that ecsatic state of trance….for that synchronous living as a family n community. 8)

Thnx Jeff……..for consistantly being wet and running around all the time to fix things up for us. You Iowa people are KILLAH!!!!….freakin maniacs who I think will smile with even a remington stuck to their heads………love u guys for all the love u showed me, my buddies and showing us the way to do it. :-* :-* :-*

Good to meet many of our Chilluminati Bro's n Sister's…….hope to see u guys and all the other I did not meet soon……varun….damon…..robyo…..all the others. 😀 😀 😀

Good to finally meet the Gnome…………Paul………….sorry I missed ur set…..next time. 😉
Thnx Mike for the demo. 🙂
Scott (Kaiser)……..Justin………..Saif…..Derby…..Greg….Lawrence….n all the others whose name I forgot…………I think next time I am gonna get myself a small note book. ;D ;D

Thanks to Naveen, Poornima and their friend
(sorry I forgot ur name) for letting me sleep in the Van for sometime.

You are welcome!!!…………great meeting you……n……..my buddies forgot they had your smirnoff bottle in our bag n we took of….sorry……will give u a full bottle at Sacred Earth….. ;D ;D ;D

    The Music……..well as Lawrence said………..amazingly banging……..full time!!! ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

Entered when Brain Lizzard was playing at 3 am………………he just altered my sedated driving brain searching like a lizzard for an answer….horrific twisted shit.
DNX………fantastic work……very clean simpple…..yet deep music……Then the tag set By Scott n Igor………….just great satisfying psy……great progression into the morning.
Luna n Solus……..beautiful n very creative stuff u guys are trying……….to combine the essense of Yoga n Meditation through the trance dance experience.
Clandestine………..coooool entry into the dark……..n coool outfit.
Freedom n Shagee……….wow……….not thats was some high power music taking me into the depths of darkness………I was just knocked out by ur set….thnx for that dark tinge i got hear after a long long time.
And then………..it was Greg (Mubali)……….fantastic Live set……immaculate mixing….sick music man…..!!!..(n i could not give u that barbeque Indian style chicken i promised….never could get the grill running)
At the end of his set I was at a state of total collapse as we hd not dry place to sit since we had already packed our tent (which was like a logoon)  🙁 and we had no torch light to go down the treacherous hill to chill in our van for some time…… :'(………hence we were literally jailed into the dancfloor……. :)….but thats a jail I can serve a life sentance……. 🙂 😀 ;D

Anyways Paradigm came up after that…………..beautiful carry over from Greg and then brought the lovely morning out to my eyes….

(honestly i thought mine was the worst)

thats sooooo incorrect………….u just brought that energy from the abyss into me to welcome the land on which we live…….such a great scenic view.

All were killer sets…………the EDM stage was also rockin great.

By morning………it was the end of my 13 hr doof without even sitting properly………..so I had to leave for my 12 hr journey to Detroit….which seemed painless…..sorry if could not say bye to all………..coulnt find everyone at that time.

FIOWA………classy stuff………i wonder if you guys can teach me some basics some time…..

Tnx to all the people at the gates n the owner who was great.

The only thing I felt missing was adequate UV lighting……at the dance floor n sorroundings…..which can enhance that deadly lineups messege 2 fold.

Jeff…….D.J.J. ……..disc jockeys jockey……. ;)…….which i feel is a very very important role to do which u did great.

Love all u guys…………cant wait to doof with ualll again……………….u have really shown me what n how to do an event no matter what. :-*

Apologies since I could not stay till the end to help clean up as we had work early on Monday. 🙁

    Thank you all.  ;D ;D ;D

    Boom!!!

    NaveeN n friends.

I really missed something eh! I was walking back from the library on Saturday night looking at all that concrete, trying my best for some kind of ET style ESP connection with you guys… next thing I know is that I'm trying to swim down the pavement after those wretched sea-lions who stole my cigarettes …

ahmmm …who'd been eating those magic mushrooms hmmm ? (In Mexico)  ;D

Guys, guys, GUYS…There's plenty of me to go around.  That goes for you, too, Mike.  ('Cuz I know you're thinking it.)

Thanks Radim for the awesome formatted pics.  If you'd like to document Sacred Earth in this manner, I'll see to it personally that you get compensation for it.  Outstanding coverage.

Radim, I back Paul's comment with that. Excellent shots. Makes me want to bring my Canon D60 to Sacred Earth, but I know I'll be too busy running around.

I second the idea of having him take assloads of pictures. I especially liked the one of Jamie in the foreground in front of the main stage.

    Incredible party.

Chris and Nick really got the weekend started off right, great show!
    All the DJ's were great,
Dan Efex was excellent as always.
Underfoot, Toki; The gnomes laid it down well. Bringing a little Madison goodness to the Iowa crowd. 😉 And yes Paul is a “sexy beast” (i guess)  🙂
Mubali, What a nice guy and a great performer on top of it.
Who was spinning in the psy tent right after sunrise?  Really good.  Reminded me of Dreamsequence's style for some reason.  I'd loooove that setlist.

The rain almost seemed a blessing, it really felt like it pulled everybody together –  radiating a warm vibe to fend off the cold.
Nice seeing a broad draw, Not just Iowa, Illinois and Wisco but Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Indiana, New York and Minnesota as well (And of course the Cali DJ's).  And all great people.  Wish I wouldn't have lost my phone, would be nice to talk to some of them.  :'(  Ah well I hope they all come to sacred earth.

I extend my deepest gratitude to Jeff and everyone else that helped this event happen,  Including the nice guys with the shiny metal objects on their shirts and the funny hats 😀 For allowing it to continue to go down.  The people at the front table were awesome, very well organized and friendly.  Smooth organization all around.

And the guy that owned the land (I'm horrible with names) was awesome, both for having us out and to talk to.  Cooks good falaffel as well. 🙂 I'd love to see his art, does anyone know if any of it is online anywhere?

So yeah.  I hope to see a m.a.g.e IV.

P.S. if anybody found a cell phone, I'd love to have it back, as it is full of numbers of people from all over the place that I can't contact otherwise. A phone is a phone but people are impossible to replace.  Even if it is soaked and ruined I'm sure that the SIM data is still good, and thus my contacts intact.  I think that I know the exact area that my friends were at when they lost it, if anyone can put me in contact with the owner of the land…

Also, this girl I know lost (well I lost it for her 🙁 ) a UW bus pass and ID, and it would cost for her to replace it, so if anyone knows where that is.
