AscensionKeymasterWhether you agree with it or not, it's obvious that this is something everyone should consider:

_eNdo_GuestIn the end, reality must take precedence over fantasy, regardless of how it makes us feel.
Exactly. This is where I think most people fail. They think they can be positive and optimistic and manifest their realities out of thin air with complete disregard to the harsh truths or reality. I feel it is crucial to maintain a strong “grounding” with reality and not simply float away into the clouds dreaming off into la-la-land.
All of this positive thinking philosophy stuff is great but you have to have a strong foundation from which to operate from. You can't simply ignore the laws of reality and think everything is going to be ok, nope, sorry. I believe in this stuff and it works great for me when properly balance with the physical realities of life. Its all just another aspect of the duality we live in. There is mental and physical just as there is day and night, summer and winter, hot and cold. One cannot exist without the other. We are all wired into a survival trip now. No more of the speed that fueled that 60's. That was the fatal flaw in Tim Leary's trip. He crashed around America selling “consciousness expansion” without ever giving a thought to the grim meat-hook realities that were lying in wait for all the people who took him seriously… All those pathetically eager acid freaks who thought they could buy Peace and Understanding for three bucks a hit. But their loss and failure is ours too. What Leary took down with him was the central illusion of a whole life-style that he helped create… a generation of permanent cripples, failed seekers, who never understood the essential old-mystic fallacy of the Acid Culture: the desperate assumption that somebody… or at least some force – is tending the light at the end of the tunnel.
