emilybobemilyGuestI laughed really hard… and then my husband pointed out that it was a drowned fox… and I drunkenly tried to rationalize that it wasn't dead..
and realized that it was a dead fox.. and I got really sad.

cosmicvibrationsMemberHey Abe, two words: almond milk. Expensive, but amazing. I like it a lot better than soy milk.

ohhhh good call Leo! i saw that in the store recently but saw it was even more expensive than rice milk. that is a great call though, I completely forgot about it, and i bet it has way more protein than rice milk does! thanks for the tip sir.
zensphereMembernut and seed milks are pretty easy to make at home, too, and much less expensive – if you have a blender.
Sesame, sunflower and almond are all good to use. I usually soak the seeds overnight before blending, adding a little sweetener and straining w/ cheesecloth or some other filter. You can add some soaked rolled oats to the blender if you like a denser milk. A *little* salt helps the flavor too. Sometimes I add cinnamon, clove, cardamom or nutmeg for more flava.I usually use about 1 part seeds/oats to 3 or 4 parts h2o
zensphereMemberOh, and you can use the strained out seed mash in cookies, or what-have-you.
there's my home ec tip of the day.

omg Joseph, you are by far the most handy handy-man I have ever met. I really wish I could hook our brains up and download whatever other useful skills and information you have in there! The only thing that would beat being able to afford Almond Milk, is making it myself! (and then making cookies with the left overs!)
I might be contacting you in the future about this bro… or perhaps I will just read up on it myself, because I bet they have machines that help the process to be faster and more efficient nowadays. Technology is the shit! 🙂
