    Kicked mega-ass  ;D  Old-skool warehouse bangin!
We left after 6am and it was still hopping!
Only bummer was the chillstage had to shut down at 5am.

It was awesome to see so many out-of-state psytrancers come out for this. 🙂

Thanks to Abe, Nate, Nick (Hurt), Scott, and everyone who brought stuff to make the party really happening.
Super special thank you to Microcosm for making it come together.

I hear these “Audiognomes” can't throw a party to save their asses.  Also, I've been told they smell.

Had a great time despite the snow and blisters on my feet.  All in all I had a fun time performing for once, taught me a few things to pay attention to in a live situation, such as double check what channel you are on before throwing the bass up, don't touch touchy cables and what not.  But thanks for the good vibes to those who gave them, Airyck and Sara, always a pleasure to have you two around and thanks for sticking around for my set.  Pauldo…dude you are one in a freaking million you have many thanks from Ben and I, if you need help with anything that I can help with let me know, Namaste to you.  HardkoreNate and the Minnesotans (hey awesome jamband name there) thanks a ton for providing the lasers usage.  Scott thanks for the awesome audio setup.  Abe, thanks for stepping up for us, I hope I can return the favor someday.  There are many others I want to thank but I'm still very crashed out.  The venue was a good spot for future events in my opinion, no real sound bled outside which meant no 5-0 presence, which in all makes a for a WIN in my opinion.

holy fuckenheimers!  ive still only slept a few hours but im at least lucid enough for a real opinion.  i really felt connected to all of you important people at the party.  i was able to throw the cares away and let loose.  i really came out of this party with a little bit of a brighter outlook….to make a long story short, i needed this party after the crappy holidays.  nick, as always my partner in crime.  thanks for pointers, criticisms, positive reinforcements, and support.  ben, your progressive set was sexelent.  adam and phil, you guys are 2 of my favorite people to hang out with to date.  katy, thanks for being a bigger person.  thanks to all the gnomes for thinking to invite me, and thanks so much for all your work.  the venue was so reminiscent to the old school underground days back in the late 90's.  i loved it.  andy, mad props on your first time out!  theres 2 major props i want to hand out though…

airyck…you are becoming one of my favorite people to joke around with and talk to.  its always so enjoyable to hang out with you

abe….dude, where the fuck did you come from!?  seriously bro, you are easily becoming one of the tightest, smoothest DJs in the midwest in such a short time.  i dont think you get enough props.  im really amazed at the talent in iowa, but some of the mixes you pulled off tuesday morning were fucking amazing.  you eat, sleep, and breathe psy and it shows in everything you do.  98% of your mixes were locked down tight and spot on.  your positive energy illuminated the morning and it was just so enjoyable to hear you play.  im pretty sure its a general consensus.  your set was probably the most memorable to me because you pretty much loaded the psytrance shot gun and said “gimme all your money bitch” before robbing eardrums and blowing brain cells.

sometimes, you just have to be in the right spot at the right time to start to open up and appreciate certain ideas and music.  i hated drum and bass for the longest time until it just “sounded right” one night and i was hooked for a good many years, eating it up with a shovel.  recently, ive really come to appreciate more morning psy.  theres some really good borderline fullon/morning stuff out there and mixed right with a good selection, it really can be quite uplifting.  im going to go ahead and blame that on airyck and abe 🙂

cant wait to see you all in iowa!!!!

OH WOW! This party absolutely rocked… best time that I've had in a warehouse in a looooooong while. Way to pull it off everyone! I'm definitely glad to have made the trip out there. My new pants took a bit of a beating, but that's to be expected 🙂

Jeffz, great seeing you again. Pauldo it was nice to finally meet you in person; you've officially re-confirmed your nerdliness by having that alien give birth to a Yoda baby  ;D  And Nate… you kept freaking me out with that fog machine. I thought that a fire supression system had gotten tripped at one point in the night. I was pretty impressed by how little sound made it out of the building. It wasn't the loudest system in the world… but you couldn't hear anything outside really. There were two police cars checking out one of the houses across the street when I got there and they didn't seem interested at all in the warehouse.

    On to the music…
    Aktif / Agent Hurt
Your set wasn't nearly as hard as I would have expected. Due to unforseen complications I didn't get to the event until about 11:30pm… so this was the first thing I hard upon arrival. Definitely got me in the mood for the rest of the night 🙂 That “All your base are belong to us” t-shirt was over the top  😀

    Ben
Wow, that was some aggressive stuff; surprisingly I rather enjoyed it. Very intense… like a wall of sound hitting you in the face. There's order within the chaos though. I think I've come a long way towards appreciating this style of music and the reasons you play it. A year and a half ago I would have been running the other direction. (In fact, I think i was trying to sleep when you were playing @ Crystal Sky and it was really getting on my nerves, hehehehe)

    Geal
You and I seem to have an overlap in musical taste. “Ducks on Mars” is just waaaaaaayyyyy too awesome 🙂 (that whole album is great IMO) I went crazy as soon as I heard it coming in. Lotsa fun!

    Meta
Awesome, of course. Every bit as enjoyable as the last time. Thx for the CD!

    Airyck
I don't think I've ever heard you play before… maybe @ Dulcenea? It would have been a very different vibe at that place anyway. Good stuff. I think I gained a new understanding of certian psy tracks by listening to you play at this party. It's always great to learn something new about music that you love. Often things sound sooooo different when played over a larger system. Thank you!

And unfortunately, that's all I could stay to see. I wanted to hear Abe play but alas it wasn't in the cards. After being inside for ~12 hrs my two dogs were about ready to burst when I got home as it was… and I wasn't prepared to board them just to go to Rockford.

Question… who was that working the door when I got there? I asked your name but it totally slipped my mind. I don't think we've met before…

    This is absolutely true.

Man did you miss a good set.  Wow…  Dude, Abe, seriously amazing set.  Mixing was solid; the music was exactly what I wanted to hear, and I don't think I knew hardly any of tracks.

Guy or girl?  Alison was there most of the night, and intermittingly Adam, me (Phil), and Aeon (Meta).

Well, I had a blast.  Exactly what I wanted.  Highlights were Meta, GeaL, and Abe, but everything before and after I fucked everything up sounded great as well. 😉  Major props to Scott for the clear, powerful sound; thanks to Alison for handling the door and that fucktard of a security guard; thanks to Nicole for the Afro pick; and thanks to everyone who made it out…even in that horrible weather!  🙂
