    FLAC, Free Lossless Audio Compression.

Compresses a wav file by about 30-50%.Ā  Good when You have 400 CDs to RIP, and you don't want compress them to a lossy codec.

FLAC has ID tags, like mp3 tags and aif tags.

And the best part, traktor reads FLAC files.Ā  Now I can use WAV quality files in Traktor and have ID tags instead of a long file name, which means better organization in traktor.

There are other Other lossless codecs, and in a few months something will be better than FLAC.Ā  For now, I am ripping all from CD to FLAC using Music Collectorz CD database and Quintessential Music Player with CLI plugin.

Yeah but he is right. It is better than burning your tunes @ 320kbps as MP3's. You lose good sound quality than you expect by doing that. Good tip Derby!Ā  ;D
