Seems like an artificial vs. natural light argument. If it's between lots of deco and blacklights and no natural light or minimal deco and lots of natural light, I'd opt for the latter. I like the warmth the firelight creates. Sure without it you get more intense UV colors to look at, but everything seems cold and dark vs. warm and inviting…fire=community and when it's incorporated into the experience of dancing to the music it's perfect IMO. I think I might be in the minority, but whatevs. It was an interesting change this time around. Still nothing has beat mainstage going in back and the sun rising over the trees… well, other than that epic sunset at Earthdance at Elandorf. I think because we've actually had completely outdoor parties I'm jaded now. what else is new. haha.
