well, i just got back home after being out on the road…..

what a evening…

seem kinda like fate just worked out in several ways for this party. As many of you know, and some do not.
I wasnt even supposed to be there. Wasnt booked, wasnt even planning on coming as i was at work, traveling cross country. However things just so turned out that i had a day and a half to kill at work, while passing thru Iowa that very weekend. It was just meant to be it seems….

So very nice and into it crowd. I showed up during Lauryn and EgBots set. Good tag, you to deffinatley have chemistry together. Nice to finally see Lauryn play at a proper time slot to for her sound, and not a 7 or 8am.

Tom brotha, good set as always. You always bring it proper in a smooth pro-manner. I can deff. hear some of Mubali's influence in your tracks (more so than Bodhi's which im glad about it), but youve added your own twist to it, and while Greg is the master of the techy mudhole stomper, your stuff seems to have a bit more punch and drive than stomp to it….

Chromatone (my doppleganger) theres a reason why this guy is the top US trance export, and has played everything from Boom, to Full Moon, to Universal Parralello. Super pro , edgy clean twilight sounds. Though his set had more older tracks in it, than his newest monsters i heard out in Cali a month ago. Would have enjoyed that a bit more, me thinks, but than thats probably cause im just quite familiar with his older stuff.
For everyone else im sure it was a treat.

Chris, I like you playing twilight. I think you should do it more. Since MOP already has Nick and Abe slamming the hard stuff, be the guy that bridges the gap either into the hard stuff, or out of it….
It suits you i think. First time i heard you play, back at Mage you played like that, and it stuck in my mind

As for myself, everyone thanks for hanging on to the end for me. I honestly didnt plan on playing, and didnt have a shit fuck clue what to play…..Glad you toughed it out for me.
I dug playing at the after…. and yeah Nick, i enjoy playing that stuff alot. True prog that builds through techy minimal into more trancey elements.

thanks to Machi and Alex for coming and picking me up. You 2 made the night possible. Nice to sit and talk with Agent Hurt, and hang with everyone else. I got to talk in depth with Egbot who though weve played together before, never did. That was great. and its always fun to hang with Tom and Lauryn.

If i can make a couple of criticisms….
Ventillation…. With such a low ceiling in the place, and all the smokers if there is a way to open a vent, or at least put some fans blowing smoke in a certain direction it would help. For those of us non-smokers, marathon dancing in those conditions can be very tough……

Sound, though not bad and totally acceptable, could be better. Ive never been a fan of 4 corner sets ups, as they always phase with one another, and leave gaps in sound coverage. Plus the back left one always shutting down got a bit annoying.

and if you can stick some visuals behind the dj, or even elsewhere in the room. I know they were in the back room, but i think the back room can do with out, and move em to the front

all easy fixes and minor points, but hey if you guys dont know by know that im a critical bastard, you havnt been paying close enough attention.
