AscensionKeymasterI just read that article like 10 minutes ago 🙂
Good stuff, glad you like discmag's site too Igor.
I also read stuff on sciam.com and fqxi.org
fqxi is probably my favorite site for scientific articles.
MachiGuestthanks Igor, very interesting find and while reading the whole thing just wanted to add that:
cancer is one of the biggest money makers in america. chemo and other conventional therapies costs hundreds thousand of dollars and there is a lvery small percentage of those who survive. all the reasearches indicating that the biggest cause of most types cancer is lack of certain vitamins esp. D (sun exposure) and B17 (best source are apricot kernels) almost absent in modern diet in majority of developed countries. I could write the essey on this.
AscensionKeymaster^ I hadn't heard about B17 before, just vitamin D. Thanks for the info Machi. Most of the cancer research I've done is about anti-inflamitory procedures which they believe helps cancer spread (our natural defense for tissue to inflame).
There was also an article (I think I saw it on yahoo news) the other day about a man who was cured of AIDS from a bone marrow transplant. They claimed it to be a pretty random occurance since it has a fatality rate of 20-30%, but it's always interesting to see science working in ways we don't always expect it to.

so is HIV. It's not profitable to cure vs keeping people on thousands of dollars of meds each month. I don't expect a cure to come from a US pharma company. Most likely will be from a foreign socialist country where it would be cost saving to cure it.
AscensionKeymasterIt's sad that there's actually documented proof of cures for cancer and aids. One cancer treatment I read about a while back was said to only cost a few hundred dollars a person to make.

totally,
mcdonald's shit-food, “soft” drinks, aluminium in deodorants, shit they put in tabacco – the list goes on, it all propels growing in power healthcare empireKev, there is tons of info out there but one of the best sources I found is here http://www.anticancerinfo.co.uk/index.htm#top also mercola.com is pretty good
aktifMemberSame thing with the Pharmacutical industry. They bank (And I mean BANK) off of peoples misery, pain, addictions…anything that a costly pill can “MANAGE”.
It's about managing a condition you have (Using their drugs for the rest of your life to stave off the condition enough to live), NOT curing the condition (Because then THEY don't make money).
Capitalizm is a sad sad venture….
But we all know this….
AscensionKeymasterIf they ever released a drug to cure such ailments they'd probably make you pay a “being alive tax” after you were cured.
Seriously, it could happen.

;D and if you don't pay they take your life away from you like they do with a house if you don't pay the mortage… , we should really hold on to those guns (I don't have one but I have mad hand to hand combat skillz >:()

In a way, they already have a “pay for being alive” tax, called the “carbon tax.”
sotMember… is it on your paystub along with FICA and SS Rob? 🙂

I believe this is definitely part of the reason why psychedelics and empathogens never became prescription despite mounting evidence of their therapeutic value – why would you want to help someone get over their PTSD by working through their issues in a session lasting six hours, when you can keep him on costly prescriptions like Valium for the rest of his life to keep his condition in check? why would you want someone to stop their excruciating cluster headaches for long periods of time with just one sub-psychedelic dose of stropharia cubensis mushrooms once every headache cycle when you can keep them suffering forever and acting as profitable consumers of opiate painkillers!

no paystub, just direct deposit with your mom! 😀
BTW, I'm all for curing cancer and stuff. … thought I saw a post awhile back about the benefits of cannabis on fighting lung cancer. Take that, Officer Friendly!
