Endo -I spent a good amount of time staring at your art in the chill dome. Chill dome itself was a great idea, no bleed, nice setup. Main stage deco very good, Abe's taps placement was perf. Favorite little deco items were the IV drip bags full of UV goo. I never did see any of the po's or naked guy or other happenings.
EklypzMemberHad a nice time. I miss chill music at night. I like psy but sometimes I like to just Chill. I really liked Suit with a Tie Guy over there though was absolutely incredible. Have not seen those kinda doodads out in a real long time and was a nice flashback to hear analog sounds! The burn was awesome and I called it an Un-Compression (since I legally cannot use the word decompression 🙂 since the BM symbol was up there. I like how we are such a gray area in Iowa and take the best of everything to make it ours. Workshops went great for the most part, loved Machi's breathing but I wimped out of stretching and yoga but looked like it went great as well as the drums. Thanks all for the help over the last couple years it has been a fantastic journey creating the workshop area with you all. I am passing the torch on to Carli and she is in charge from now on 🙂 Can't think of anyone better to do it and feels like a natural progression as I work to get off the corporate trough to one of my own making.
As a criticism I like Wisconsin better I think, sure the drive is nicer but like the seclusion that WI brings.

Fractal Fields was so amazing and perfect, all the hype seemed to make me think earthdance would be even more beautiful and inspiring…… I feel like I am partially to blame for myself being let down, are the entheogens just not acceptable anymore? maybe I should just leave em at home :-
Turned out that all the new things I was looking forward to like the sound systems, dome setup, electrypnose, aligning minds etc.. were all more amazing than expected…. but other beautiful things from fractal fields that I mistakenly took for granted were missing. I feel like an ass, so I must say ED is still up there in my list of favorite weekends… but I thought it was gonna be THE one!?!?!
PROS: Most of all.. holding my fiances hand on one side, and Abe's on the other while the BEAUTIFUL prayer was being played fealt TRULY WARM AND AMAZINGLY INSPIRING! THANKS!
Duh.. I worship Vince and all knobs, keys, software, synths, hardware that he touches… I will hopefully someday figure out how he gets his sound, TRULY EEEEEEEEEPPIIIIIIIIC!
Aligning Minds, Coral.. especially the chill set where dude from jellyheadz came in I was really thrown off and super happy by this! also her sunday power set was a perfect end!
The dude with the mohawk (sorry I'm new) working non-stop checking sound, maybe it fluctuated a bit.. but what needs to be done needs to be done! Thanks for your BOOM!!!
The fact that it didn't rain, the shooting stars that I also saw, Abe's night set, Niki's friday set, UNWASHED FUCKING TOMATO!Ascensions DJ set, midwest is heading somewhere!CONS: What the fuck, I fealt at certain moments like I was at Schwagstock or Wakarusa or something.. dirty people walking around trying to sell me shit with a bad attitude??????????
Obviously the cops… I'm sorry to complain I understand there is nothing to do… they are the fucking gestapo, but man did I feel bad for Mr. Jelly……… so embarrasing!!!!!!!!!!
My self.. I spent too much time worrying about my sacraments and missed primordial ooze due to exaustion…………………………………………………………..never again!!!!!!!!
Last but not least.the time slots in the dome. If there is going to be alternative (dubstep, electro) please, please, please have a THIRD stage for true psychedelic chill music!!!!All in all I think it was a very amazing experience, I'm sure all of the great minds who organise these things have learned something and are hopefully pondering on how to fix any slight mistakes. I love you. I love you for spending the time, making the effort, and ignoring my lame ass comments!! I just hope there is a way we can grow as a community without attracting so many bugs!!

garlicGuestThanks so much to everyone who devoted their time and energy into making Earthdance such a quality festival. I met so many kindred spirits over the weekend from all across the globe, and the dj's and sound were top notch. Even the dubstep, which I had reservations about, was a welcome treat.
So many people wandered into my campsite looking to sit down and chat. Some stayed for a few minutes, some a few hours. It's this genuine friendliness and feeling of community that will keep me coming back to future Chilluminati and MOP events.
I hope to see you all at Crystal Sky!

everyone in the southeastern caravan was complaining that there wasn't enough dubstep. lol
usually our chill stages are almost nothing but nasty dubstep at night. it was pretty weird to hear other stuff being played and I was a bit let down by the lack of dubstep to be honest. I mean there were a few sets but for the most part I want some serious wobble.
AscensionKeymasterWords won't do this experience justice, but I'll give it a shot.
I will start by saying that this was the best event I've ever been to or been a part of. If there wasn't any negativity the universe might have collapsed because this event was so positive. I had so many great conversations, met so many great new people, got to see many good friends I haven't seen in a while. I'll write my experience chronically so I hopefully don't leave anything out.
Thursday night I got there, very happy to see Tyler and Ben making it. Felix and the rest of the sound crew was there and we got things going right away. I can't say enough how awesome of a person and sound engineer Felix is. If you've even just been to a show he's done you owe him a big hug. This man is a machine. He is very professional, organized and precise. He works with a great crew also who, like I, have come to trust him completely. There's no bs with felix, he'll tell you like it is and expect you to do the same. Airyck and I, and eventually more people, set up the dome thursday night as well, which was quite the experience, but we got it up and it stayed up :). Working with Airyck is always a great time, laughing about who knows what and sharing knowledge is always fun.
Friday was a ton of work and plenty of things went right and wrong. This was the real testament to how awesome felix is. Speakers got wet, he got started on drying them immediately. There were some issues with the power, and felix had brought 2 generators. Huge disasters completely avoided thanks to felix. Felix was also able to do a full sound check in like 1/8 the time it usually takes. The rest of friday went smoothly getting everything setup. Jerry was awesome to have some other people there to help out with things like driving around to place trash cans- this helped tons. Friday night was fun and still hectic. I was very pleased with my dj set. My tracks sounded nice on the big system and I got some good ideas and compliments which all helped. It's been really awesome to hear the Tomatoes sound progress throughout this year- they just keep getting better. Mike and Nate played great sets that night too. I only caught a bit of Niki's set, but what I heard was really good.
Saturday morning I got to hear some of Blake, Scott and Derek's sets- all of which were really good. The ~20 minutes of Scott's I heard was great, I knew I'd be sad to not get to hear more of it. Carli played a really nice chill set too- huge props! I was very happy with my first live set I've done myself. I had practiced a few times and it ended up sounding the way I wanted it too. Workshops looked great, a good number of people seemed to be participating which is always good. The production workshop was fun, I learned a lot of good things the 15 minutes I was there. Aligning Minds and Electrypnose played awesome sunday afternoon sets. The prayer for peace was amazing. I was really moved standing next to Electrypnose and Jellyheadz, watching everyone hold hands during the prayer. I was glad that everyone participated in the group OM as well :). Saturday night was going well, had a lot of fun times chatting with people around the camp and at the front gate. The burn ceremony was great. Abe and Liz did a great job organizing it and Allen build an awesome effigy. Tim's set was great, my kind of techno! Abe and Vince played awesome, powerful sets. I heard tons of great things about the dubstep being played. It was quite hectic once the cops came. Tyler is the reason why we didn't have to move the stage to the barn. He is seriously amazing- I probably told him a hundred times, but I am sooooo glad he made it to the event. Things would not have run nearly as smoothly if he was not there. Although the situation sucked, every kept their spirits up and were able to enjoy the quite music we had and enjoy each others company. Nick, Scott and I shared some much needed hilarious moments that night. Igor and I had some great talks and experiences as well. I was in a pretty sour mood after all that had happened, but Emily showed up and really cheered me up with some more hilarity. Seriously, thank you guys! I really really love our scene, everyone I talked to only had positive things to say even when there was no music playing. I seriously almost started crying I was so moved by everyone's positive attitudes. Sunday morning turned out to be epic. Brad and Saundra are so wonderful for playing the final quiet spot so the djs we flew in were able to play at a louder volume. Coral- I knew she was the right person to pick and she freakin rocked it. I have loved hearing her dj the past years and am so glad to share her positive personality with my midwest family. Nick Synergy rocked out the ending set, great track selection and some awesome and creative djing :). Teardown went well, we got lots of help from people there taking down deco, moving equipment and ending with tearing down the dome. The grounds were clean so thank you to everyone for throwing away trash properly.
Thank you thank you thank you everyone, you all are the reason why I will continue to do these events for as long as I can and why I will always put my best effort into all of them. Every event has been a reaffirmation that this is what I love doing. All MOP members helped out a lot. Thanks Blake and Mallory for taking the donations to the crisis center. Thanks Abe for helping with the planning process. Thanks Nick for always being there to lend a helping hand.
Thank you Tyler- You have helped me out in so many ways for so long I can't even begin to describe it. You continue to impress me with your party handling skills and everything I have learned from you has helped me out tremendously.
Thank you Derek and Carli- I freaking love you guys. You always have a way of adding a special element to our events and are always around to lend a hand wherever needed.
Thank you Igor- You have a very special way of making sure things are running well and managing a lot of people and tasks. You are a master planner and just have a way of getting things done right at events.
Thank you Scott- You already know how much you rock, so I don't need to say much. Just like Igor, you simply have a knack for getting things done right at events. I have learned so much from you and it has been very easy to coordinate event plans with you.

Chill is more important though, especially during the dark times of the night…it's not “better” music, but it's definitely less intense. There needs to be a space that involves far less intensity than psytrance. Yeah, the wobble is nice and even relaxing at times, but not most of the time. It's loud, heavy, and in your face, which is exactly what psytrance is. There needs to be soft, subdued, music to compliment.

WOW. After all is said and done I am still vibrating with positive energy and gratitude. Sunday morning I sat down with Sunra's kids and put my hand print on their art mural. Inspired by my experiences that weekend, I wrote “Love the life you live”. And boy do I!
I am so thankful to be a part of this beautiful, blossoming, positive community. It really is inspiring to get to work with so many motivated, enthusiastic, lovable, happy people. Sometimes I need to take a moment and realize just how rare this is . . . . There is so much love and positive intention given by so many people to make our events happen. Thank you to everyone who contributed to Earth Dance with their energy, love, talent, art, performance, knowledge and perspective.

Maybe I'm just too absorbed in psy, but I also feel that the EDM at the second stage was a detractor from the event. Maybe during the day I'd consent to various genres being played but at night I need my psy-chill. It's a counter balance for the dark, hard, mind melting force which is rockin at the main stage. . . it's a place to center one's self if your mind starts to go off kilter . . .
I think that our event could have benefited from a little more conscious respect. It's unrealistic to expect everyone to be on the same wave length but it's definitely something we can all work towards. Respect is a very powerful force and can do amazing things when it's enacted. Respect for the land your on, respect for the people around you, and respect for yourself. Just some things to ponder on . . .
