5-HT2AMemberI had to bail out of Lakes of Fire due to tight finances, so I was really psyched to find out about a psytrance party going on right here in Chicago on the very same weekend ;D
I lived in Chicago from summer 2007 to summer 2008, very few psytrance parties went down in the city during that time, and I didn't go to any of them. Just recently moved back earlier this month, and am psyched to finally get to enjoy some psy here.
phanatic984MemberWill the details be made available here?
Im new on the forum, well newly registered at least and I would love to finally see chicago get some psy

Mattie-ZMemberI'm another newbie to the Chicago psy scene but no stranger to the rave and edm scenes here. I've been fairly active in the rave scene here since '05 and have always been disappointed at the lack of any form of trance in the underground scenes here, let alone goa or psytrance. I was really excited when I heard of this, as I've always thought to myself how wonderful such a beach party would be in Chicago. A couple summers ago I was aware of one rave promoter trying to attain permits for such a party, but to my knowledge basically nothing ever happened from that point on. I stopped by the beach in the evening around 8 or so and was thoroughly impressed with everything I saw. The speakers were loud enough to be heard way across the park, all the djs I saw were on point, and there was even a decent number of people dancing. Congrats to whoever was behind this, I had a blast just sitting on the rocks with my shawties. I would've stayed until the end if I didn't have prior party engagements. I think it would be great if this could be a monthly or weekly event. I know I'd be more than willing to pay a donation every time. I've had such a hard time finding psytrance or goa in Chicago, just couple of the big acts every now and then I'd hear of, most recently infected mushroom which really disappointed me(I went on the premise that they were going to be playing a dj set in addition to the live stuff). It was such a thrill to hear this music outside, on a lovely beach with perfect weather as opposed to my bedroom speakers. 540watts can bump a little room, but eventually it gets boring 😉
Props and thanks to everyone involved, I look forward to attending upcoming events!
5-HT2AMemberGood music, good people, good party! I had a great time and met some cool people. What a nice introduction to the local psytrance scene. The one thing I feel that this party didn't have but really could have used is a subwoofer. Hopefully there'll be one next time! Looking forward to future parties this summer!
