[Ascension]

Here's what I posted about the party on the midwest-edm forums:

Props to Catalytic for putting this event on. I mostly went to see Hallucinogen/Sphongle play and I'm glad I did. I enjoyed most of his LIVE set, some of it was kinda off putting, but that's probably due to me paying too close of attention to everything he was doing musically. I spent most of the time hanging out by the psytrance stage (which happened to be next to my tent coincidently) and talking with some great people there. I got to play an hour and a half set saturday night there and was glad to see some people passing by nodding their head, if not stopping to dance/figure out wtf was going on. Everyone else who played at the psy stage did a terrific job and thanks to those who helped get us fuel to play saturday night.

Not much to criticize that hasn't been said (lack of porta potties was solved by peeing in the woods), but it was sad to see a TON of garbage on the cave floor by saturday morning. I picked up a bunch of trash and was glad to see other people pitching in as well. That place was just too beautiful to let it be littered like that (This isn't the organizers' fault, I just think other people should share this mentality/throw their garbage away or hang onto it until they can).

Man, I'm shocked none of you besides Leo came to this. Epic failure from the psy heads. Hallucinogen was fucking killer. ands down, he is the fucking man. 500 people ravingtheir facesoff at 6 am. RAVERS LOVE PSY. Identity needs to be brought up for shows as well. He's from Kentuky and played a killer set on the main stage on friday night. I didn't even notice the pst stage till themusic started sucking on saturday(Baby Anne) but it looked like all you fuckers would have had a blast there.

Oh, and they had 2 1 watts and a 3 watt full color animation laser. EPIC.

Also, I completed more psy conversions. Got to play a 90 minute set on the second stage saturdaynight and had a whole bunch of new faces rocking their asses off. Even caveman Bob was dancing.

I was there, dancing to simon's set all the way through despite puking from some jank-ass subway like an hour before. I thought you were playing at 9 saturday night, but when I went to the stage someone else was there :(.

That laser was cool, come guy I think from nebraska gave it to us. I played at set at the psy stage from 730-9 since a few of the djs didn't show up and everyone was getting the fuck down to it. Complements from DeepFryer and a promoter from nebraska that wants to book me sometime made me think it was good too 🙂

Huh, you musta stayed at the top the whole time. I got to camp at the bottom, so I never went back up the hill till the lame beats drove us away. I only caught the last hour before the pigs flexed and shut er down 🙁

I gt to the top and saw the psy stage wasn't even set up and never went back till thevery end. If I had known it was at the bottom the hill, we probably would have spent saturday night there.

Yeah aparently the guy who was supposed to run the psy stage is on house arrest so it was pretty much vaxination, the psyntist and friends throwing it together.

Great time. Beautiful venue.
Did Simon play Splitting an Atom by Ott? or does Shpongle have a song that sounds incredibly similar? I thought it was ott, my friend says hallucinogen/shpongle. Either way, great set. I wish the volume wasn't turned down… i just moved closer to the speaker  ;D

Thanks to everyone who made the psy stage happen, i enjoyed it while i could.
