bit.  For to not plan would be miss out on the 3RD ANNUAL AURA MAN –
an annual community burn, and all-around good time, held at the best
damn clothing-optional campground in the world, SUN AURA Resort in
Roselawn, Indiana.

Now is the time to spend in between dreams.  Actually, that is the
theme for AURA MAN 2006  —  IN BETWEEN DREAMS.

Lol you have to read the camps at the resort here are some of the descriptions :

Maybe more sexual than other regionals, but if you read the whole description it goes into other stuff that do not seem as focused on that hippy sex crap.

They have cabins to rent too, doesn't seem fully like a regionally kinda a blend of party weekend and intro to burning.

If I go, we should go in on cabins, only $35 a night 😀

Debbie and I investigated Sun Aura's next door neighbor Ponderosa Sun Club as a possible outdoor venue for Chilluminati, and we thought it sucked. It was just packed with trailers, like a trashy trailer park on speed, Trailer Park Boys without clothes. The “pond” was a largely dried up hole . . . the naturists seemed very cliqueish and unfriendly, and it was clear that they would not allow all-night music. There was hardly any open space anywhere.

Sun Aura has a shared history with Ponderosa and is the home of Nudes A Poppin, a huge porn star and stripper event. The whole Roselawn naturist community seems pretty cheesy to us. But if anyone has been to Sun Aura we would love to hear their firsthand account. The people who put on Aura Man have done it several years now and I have yet to meet anyone who has actually been to one.

This should not be taken as criticism of naturism. I think naturism is cool and maybe Sun Aura is completely different from Ponderosa.

Until you hear more, beware.

I am Amaretto, co-host of Aura Man in Indiana, a member of the Michigan Burning Man group, and, now, a new member of Chilluminati.  Welcome to me  :D!!

I thought I would take this opportunity to clarify some of the concerns ??? posted about Aura Man 2006.

This is the 3rd year doing Aura Man 🙂 🙂 :).  My wife, Mary Jane (yes, that's her real name  😉 ) and I have been members of Sun Aura for 10 years.  When we discovered Burning Man in 2001 and went in 2002, we noticed some astounding similarities in the folks at each.  So we decided to brings the attitudes of Burning Man to Sun Aura and created Aura Man.  So far, everyone there loves the fun and art, and it's growing into an event the members of Sun Aura now look forward to.  And we want the local BM communities to share it with us, and us with them.

As for Ponderosa Nudist Resort ::) across the street, there is absolutely no connection with Sun Aura.   There may have been 30-70 years ago, but not anymore.  Ponderosa hosts the Nudes-A-Poppin show one weekend a year – open to the public.  Other than that, Ponderosa is a very family-oriented camp, total nudity mandatory, and very conservative >:(. (If you spread suntan location on your wife's body in a place that she can reach herself, you risk getting thrown out :o).  Sun Aura, on the other hand, is quite the opposite.  It's clothing-optional.  Although management discourages calling it a swinger's camp :P, it can't be denied.  There is some of that going on, but it is first and foremost a nudist campground with swimming, dancing, golf-carting, volleyball, parties, drinking, swearing, smoking, and all those other things you would expect to find at an adults-only, no-children-allowed, clothing-optional, 350-acre, nudist  campground.  (Some of the shit that happens here,well…..use your imagination :o).  It's a fun place  ;D

So, fear's aside.  Bring your psy camp down to Aura Man and party with us.  It's not a sex-oriented event, but Sun Aura is a sexy camp if you want it to be (and if you know where and when to look).

Aura Man is just a couple of months away, July 29-30.  Don”t miss this opportunity to meet and mingle with burners and like-minded folks from across the Midwest.  Whether you like Freak Parades or drumming, electronic music or the Mel Torme Happy Hour, pig roasts or pancake breakfasts, big fire (Fire! This year”s theme is In-Between Dreams.  Look by the man for the dreamsticks to add your dream to the man before he burns.  Bring art to display on the beach.  Bring food to share at the Pig Roast potluck.  Try out your Burning Man costumes before you get to the playa.  Enjoy hours of music by the man before he burns.  Bring your drums.  Bring your fire spinning or breathing gear to entertain the masses before the burn.

240 miles from Ann Arbor.  Hour-and-a-half from Indianapolis.  Hour-and-a-quarter from Chicago.  Moments from the playa.

I've photographed naked before and was displayed in a public art gallery.  So I'm trying to be more OK with nudity and body.  I just don't know though if I'd want to see any of my friends butt nekked!    :P  ;D
