Hats off to Psymbolic for lighting the place up in fine style, and massive respect to Dan Efex, Derby and IS.

Derby — you was robbed, man, you was robbed!

So uh…were AP actually USING any of those synths, or just hitting “play” on their laptops?

For those who haven't seen them yet:

    🙂

I saw them touching their synths couple times …but actually wasn't paying attention 🙂

i had an absolute blast… It was a much different vibe than i usually get from that place…

Everyone i met was incredible, and a lot of familiar faces from other events… Wish i would have had more time to talk to ppl.

Not sure what AP was doing on stage, but i liked it a lot.  Definitely the best performance i have seen there since Deep Sky.

Init String was kick ass too, but i liked them better the last weekend at Geologic.

Derby, it was great talking to you.  See you tomorrow!

oh what a night! Init String string's set was amazing… love those live drums.

As far as AP's set, it had a lot of energy but i was bummed that they only
played tracks off TEN. Considering that the entire album was remixed by
newer artists, I cant understand why AP would choose to play only those.
As far as how you can play remixes as a 'live' set!?!… im stumped.
Avi & Lior are great guys though… very friendly and still humble after
    all this success.

Dan Efex played a bit too long for my liking…wish Derby could have gone on longer instead.
He played Azax's Rain and that made my night!  😉

Infected Mushroom did something similiar during one of their Soundbar shows — played a “live” version of “Elation Station” as remixed by Beat Hackers.  I don't understand how this qualifies as their own material after it's received additional production by another act.  If I were performing, I'd want to play *my* rendition, not someone else's.  But whatever…

Yeah, as much as I like Dan Efex (who was playing housier and otherwise more progressively than normal), Derby could've used some more playtime at the end there.  You could tell he was itchin'!

Well, one reason why Astral may have had to do it is that the basslines in the earlier produced Astral tracks dont sound as clean or jumpy as the new “techno-whoop baselines” … a solution to that would probably be to remaster the older tracks or maybe replace it with a cleaner bassline. Something like what Sandman did for his 2005 remastered album release of Witchcraft or what GMS did for Arabian Knights on Mescaline(2004 version).

Varun — Wait, so the 2005 re-release of Witchcraft was REMASTERED?  I have the Matsuri version, and so ignored the reissue.  Is it a drastic improvement, or can I get by with the “classic” version.
