Great!  Thanks, Kevin!  This is the 3rd party i have done that i have dropped the ball and didn't bring a camera!  Does anyone have any more pics?  I'd love to see them.

PS> My review is coming soon… Thanks so much, everyone for making this what it was.  It was definitely very special to me.  🙂

    Amazing event!

The only complaint i have is the choice of visuals. I understand that Halloween Dark-Psy themed events are supposed to be scary, but is it necessary to include gore, grotesque, and offensive imagery in the visuals in order to generate a Halloween effect? I think not. there were several times where I found my eyes wandering to the screen only to witness carnage, gore, killing, corpses, blood, intestines, and many other things that just killed the vibe inside of me. The music would be taking me to a positive place, and then I would see the visuals, and be brought to a negative place in my mind. I would either be forced to close my eyes or to stop dancing and go take a rest break. In my honest opinion, it is not helpful or beneficial to the vibe of the dance floor to use such imagery. Psychedelic fractals and what not are great entertainment when the music itself is already demented and scary. Adding gore and carnage to the visual environment only gives the music more of a negative feel in my opinion, meaning, if someone is perceiving the music as dark and scary, and then goes to look at the colorful visuals for positive reassurance, he or she will only find out that in fact, the visuals are even more demented than the music. Surely this was an Apsylum for the Unsane, but honestly, there were times where I found the environment to be too unsane to want to dance.

Abe, you can't be serious.  You're plans as a neurosurgeon for the future includes cracking skulls open and getting torrents of blood squirted at ya–this certainly should not kill the vibe for ya.  ???  I really don't understand this.  These visuals can be viewed as funny at times, I mean comon, zombies eating themselfs looped…the thought of this brings a smile to my face.  Did you know that they used chocolate sauce instead of blood in the days of black and white?  It is all in how you percieve te visuals, yes they are dark, but was the music light and colorful.  Or was it dark and twisted?  I like Paka Paka for this reason, its not just recorded fractals or naked computer people flying through fractals.  Personally I like to look at the visuals and say HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK!  Especially when the music compliments the visuals so perfectly.  When Chuck was playing and the morbid animation came on that looked like kids drawings moving and doing things I was taken to another level, a more mature level of visuals.

Abe, sometimes colerful spinning shapes repeated just doesn't do the desired trick.  ::)

Zombies eating themselfs looped…brilliant.  Still makes me smile.  🙂

    Point being that for a party like this, it was A W S O M E ! ! ! !  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D  😮  😮  😮  😮

    To each their own, ey?

SRSLY – I find it somewhat disturbing that theres always this air of censorship in the psy scene. For those of you who feel that sometimes the music gets too dark, the imagery goes too far, or subject matter may be outside what you feel comfortable with – please remember that theres a bunch of us who bite our tongues when you are fruiting it up with the chill and the progressive. Live and let live. Don't be like the religious right…

I thought the visuals were hilarious. Yes they were over the topic morbid and grotesque, but it complemented the music, atmosphere and overall theme of the party perfectly. There's a time and a place for everything and this time and place called for scenes of someone with no abdomen eating their guts, having them spill out and eating them again :). There were also times of funny, non-gory things like those elephant looking aliens sniffing up the white powder on the floor in their spaceship and the slug smoking the hookah.

just to play devil's advocate, you can have dark visuals that aren't gory and have plenty of substance, not just spinning shapes. who caught Robert Rich's set at ED with Paka Paka's visuals?

I would have been up for more fake gore, ala Troma stuff.. 🙂

At the late 90's breakcore parties, there was way worse stuff than this weekend.. Fecalphilia, Snuff type stuff… that was too much..

Thanks to Tyler and crew for once again putting on a great show. Venue kicked ass ;D

ps. Girls bathroom was the coolest place in the world and it was pretty sweet to have a weird little hang out when the madness that was the party was too much 😀
