Researchers at NASA  and the Max Planck Institute  have attempted to reproduce some of Hutchison's experiments, but that so far none has succeeded.[citation needed] Indeed, NASA's Marc Millis remarks that Hutchison himself appears unable to reproduce his own experiments. Hutchison claims that this is due to the destruction of his lab by the military, or because he has been otherwise prevented legally by the government from repeating his experiments.

If NASA and other highly funded research facilities have not been able to reproduce the effect then I think its fairly safe to say it isn't real.

Hutchison claims that “at the end of the cold war” a “military intelligence service” (not otherwise specified) destroyed his lab in Vancouver  while he was traveling in Europe.[citation needed] To support this allegation, Hutchison has presented photos of letters allegedly written by various scientific and government organizations, as well as a letter allegedly written by Hans-Adam II, Prince of Liechtenstein.

    “Allegedly written”
Notice how there are not citations in this part of the wiki.  Hmmm I wonder….

Hutchison later admitted to being “creative” with the footage

    😉

This “Hutchison Effect” has been claimed for years, without any independent verification – ever. In fact, its originator can't even replicate it on demand. This has been investigated more than once, been part of documentaries on The Discovery Channel, but still never seems to pass critical muster. This is in the category of folklore. In general, the “American Antigravity” web site caters to such folklore and its enthusiasts.

Why would the military-industrial complex, USA government, Canadian Government, Los Alamons Laboratories, Lockheed Martin and many others, all show strong interest and even spend money researching something that was just a hoax?

Why have these been the only places that have researched his work?  Did you attach “many others” for kicks?  Maybe I just missed all the other reputable places that have done research into this.  The places that supposedly did probably spent money into research for the same reasons you think it's a great area for research.  It allows for many possibilities, especially for conspiracy theories!  Poor scientific understanding, no quantifiable data, ambiguous theories/claims that can easily be made off the evidence available, and applications for things that the government might want to cover up!  Are you starting…to see… the pattern here, Barbie?  *makes Dr. Cox hand motions*

Probably, they started some research, then realized either that it was indeed all a hoax, or that we need to understand the SCIENCE behind what's going on before we sink any more money into it.

Who knows if that's his myspace page or not.  After watching some of the video that Abe posted I'm definitely sure he's onto real science though.  Perhaps the greatest genius of our time…

this is more conspiracy crap.  delete this post and suspend his account for 30 days

As long as no one talks about it, the post can stay (don't try any funny business pauldo :)).

    So, I wonder, Abe, if:
1.you can truly not tell that this guys work is almost certainly bogus
2.you are so conditioned by all of your 911 investigations to believe that anything controversial must be true
    or
3.you are just trolling us all for a reaction.

If there is something else going on, please, do tell. Cause it sure seems like you're just trolling.

Seriously, man! Where is your scientific integrity?

    cuddles,

    Joseph

I see lots of legitimacy in his work.

I don't know if that MySpace page is real, but I will email Dr. Wood and Mr. Hutchison and ask them about it.

Agree to disagree I guess guys, I just don't think that the Military, Governments, and Weapons Laboratories would spend months of time and thousands of dollars researching how he was creating the effect unless there was some validity to it. If he was doing these things with magnets and or strings, I am pretty sure the Military or Governments or Laboratories would have caught on to the hoax rather quick.

And why the military ceased his equipment for months against his will, I don't know.

    Agree to disagree.

By the way, how many of you doubters / skeptics of this situation actually watched the documentary, honestly?

    Just wondering…

Well, how much time and money has the military wasted on paranormal operations? Does that mean there is some validity to it? It's not a compelling argument.

I have been reading the 911 e-book you sent me, and it all just seems so spurious…

I've known of the Hutchison effect since 1997, and as a starry-eyed and idealistic youth, I lapped it up. But aren't you studying to be a Neuroscientist? Again, I ask you, where is your scientific integrity? How can these things seem legit to you? It's like in the Author Bio to that e-book you sent me where he talks about “alternative knowledge” of UFOS, Mars, chemtrails, 911, etc. I mean, don't you see the profit motive? People, intelligent people even, will buy into this stuff, go to workshops, make donations, disseminate the “truth” through the internet without engaging in the merest critical examination of the weight of the evidence.

    I don't understand it… ???

Personally I think you just want to believe in all this stuff, and you go cherry picking to try and justify it. Kind of like the creation “science” museum, where they have alternative explanations for all the data convenient enough to include.

    That is not scientific.
