I think this is because the owners of the Playa or whomever takes care of it is serious about the playa.  Did you guys know that every single piece of glitter is plucked from the playa post burn?!  Wowzas thats a lot of tweezin.  I am figuring that they want the playa dust to remain on the playa.  No matter how large or small the quantity… I could be wrong..

i'm afraid you are wrong. i have a mini-dust-storm every time i set up my tent, and i went in 2007 😛

probably has to do with the desire not to introduce foreign matter to the antarctic environment. playa dust is uncontrollable and gets fucking everywhere once introduced to an item or space…
