could someone recomend a good first timer midi controller?? please!

    hello!

    just been looking around alot lately and realised there are tons under 300bucks which means i can get one!! So far I have only played with virtual dj… lol.. i know.. lame… but still i have SOO much fun and I can actually get heads to turn.. and this is without headphones.. or a descent audio card!!

    I also have been toying with the ableton demo.. sweet…

    and I am building a cpu with my next paycheck and getting an m-audio soundcard that comes with ableton 4.. so i just need a controller!!

    any help is greatly greatly appreciated……….. mostly play with psy.. and dnb..  I would like to be able to have standard arrangements for dj eg.. cross phader.. effects… but also do more with ableton etc.. i'm dumb… help!

    I use the Axiom 25 by m-audio. Works pretty well and has big chunky drum pads. They also have bigger versions too. If you're not into playing keyboards, maybe the trigger finger would be good for you.

    If you are trying to DJ, get traktor scratch pro with the audio-8 interface and use a DJ mixer to control it. Otherwise, ableton is definitely the thing…

    ok so i bought the axiom 49… can anyone help me use it?? lol..

    i seriously can not get the controller to command anything in ableton.. i'm trying to just follow the quick directions that came with the axiom and nothing………..

    i'm just trying to do basics.. like assign master volume to a fader.. and pan to a fader.. etc…

    i suck..

    what kind of troubles are you having?  it's quite easy to map shit in ableton.  message me and I'll help you.
