That was nice of the guy to spend 6 hours there before striking. I guess the vibe of the party didn't do much to change his attitude. Or maybe he's just a big asshole!

Yeah, mainstream ignorance (assisted by a corporately-controlled media) laziness, and voter apathy are big reasons why we're sliding into worldwide fascism.

some bad news on the homefront:

learn a lesson from the Mumbai story. People were pretty blatantly breaking the law.

I don't really understand the laws about hash in India. When I was in Varanasi it was so easy to obtain hash it seemed legal. It was sold by fixed booth street vendors. Do the laws vary from state to state? I also frequently observed public cannabis smoking, though it was frowned on. I remember the signs about no ganja smoking along the Ganges at places. It seemed pretty open, though that was the eighties. Maybe this says more about police corruption than about the laws.

I wonder if that reporter had not needed to file a story, and instigated the whole thing, whether the police would even have cared. It seems sometimes in India like “drug law” enforcement is a highly political thing that comes and goes due to whether a politician decides to make a case about it.

its the fucking media… a politicians son just got hauled up for a case where a freind ODed and died … so the media and the cops are trying to prove a point. It all boils down to politics. Some idiot behind a desk needs to look like he's doing some work.

    Check article:
Cop entered “a little before midnight.”
“I decided to strike when the party was at its height, around 1 am”

So how could he have been in there for 5 hours?

Theres another article that puts a price on the drugs seized … all obviosly fabricated… they claim they siezed about 10 times more than they actually did and then added a few zeros to the market price for the media.

Its all balls. And the organisers of this party are a bunch of morons who let this happen. Everyone could see this one coming.
